Pace
Full, social, experience-led
Istanbul starts with scale. Mosques, bazaars, ferries, late-night streets, rooftop views and a city split between two continents.
Then Cappadocia changes everything. Cave hotels, underground cities, valleys that barely look real and mornings that begin before sunrise because sometimes waking up at 5:30 am is worth it.
Izmir brings us west. Aegean air, old markets, long waterfront evenings and a slower rhythm before we head further south.
Then Bodrum. Whitewashed streets, sea views, long lunches, gulet sailing and one final stretch where the trip stops feeling like a schedule and starts feeling like summer.
This is not Turkey in one mood. That is the point.
Trip highlights
Day by day
Eight days from Istanbul’s old streets through Cappadocia’s valleys to the Aegean coast at Bodrum, laid out day by day.
Days 1–8
Istanbul
Land in Istanbul, check in and take a little time to settle. Then we step straight into the city.
We begin around Istiklal Street, wander through older quarters and make our way towards Galata for sunset.
By evening, Istanbul becomes a different place entirely. Dinner, drinks, Bosphorus views and a first taste of the city’s nightlife.
Core Experiences
Optional
Istanbul
Today is the Istanbul people imagine before arriving. We explore Sultanahmet with a private guide, moving through the historic heart of the city before heading towards the Grand Bazaar.
Later, things slow down with a traditional Turkish hammam. Then the city changes pace again.
A Bosphorus yacht experience around sunset, followed by dinner and another night out for whoever is still going.
Core Experiences
Optional
Cappadocia
Early start. We fly into Cappadocia and trade city streets for volcanic landscapes.
After checking in, we head underground at Kaymakli Underground City, one of the region’s most fascinating historical sites.
By evening, we experience the ritual and stillness of a Whirling Dervish ceremony. Then dinner and a night in a cave hotel.
Core Experiences
Cappadocia
Today begins before the world wakes up. For those who choose it, sunrise comes from a hot air balloon above Cappadocia. For everyone else, sunrise from the ground is still a very good morning.
After breakfast, we explore the landscapes around Pasabag, Love Valley, Rose Valley, Pigeon Valley, Uchisar and Göreme. There is pottery, cave architecture, strange rock formations and enough viewpoints to make your camera roll mildly unreasonable.
Later, we finish with a sunset horseback ride through the valleys.
Core Experiences
Optional
Izmir
We leave the valleys behind and fly west. Welcome to Izmir.
After checking in, we explore Agora of Smyrna, wander through Kemeralti Bazaar and spend the evening around the waterfront.
The pace is deliberately looser today. Coffee, markets, hammam, dinner and whatever the evening turns into.
Core Experiences
Optional
Bodrum
Breakfast, check out and head south towards Bodrum.
By afternoon, we are on the water. A private gulet sailing experience takes us out along the coast for a few hours of sea, sun and very little urgency.
Come back for drinks, dinner and Bodrum after dark.
Core Experiences
Optional
Bodrum
Today we go backwards in time. A private guided visit to Ephesus, one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the region.
Marble streets, old theatres, columns and stories from a city that once sat at the centre of the ancient world.
Then back to Bodrum. A good dinner, a long table and the part of the trip where everyone starts pretending they are not flying home tomorrow.
Core Experiences
Istanbul
Breakfast, check out and fly back to Istanbul. Depending on flight timings, there is time for lunch, shopping or one last wander before departures.
Then goodbyes, photographs and the usual promises to plan the next trip soon.
Core Experiences
This is the shape of the trip, not a military schedule. Timings may shift with flights, weather, local operations and the group.

Reviews
Good to know
It is active, but not relentlessly so. Istanbul and Cappadocia are fuller days, while Izmir and Bodrum are designed to feel lighter.
Yes. Most Voyagio travellers come alone.
No. It is optional because pricing changes significantly with weather and demand.
Balloon flights depend heavily on weather and aviation permissions. If it is cancelled, the operator’s refund or rescheduling policy will apply.
April is excellent for coastal weather, sailing and being outdoors, but the sea can still be cool. We would not position this departure as a swimming-focused beach trip.
Comfortable, well-located hotels, including a cave-style stay in Cappadocia.
Yes. The itinerary includes a private guided Ephesus experience.
Turkey is generally relaxed in tourist areas, but modest clothing is required when entering mosques and certain religious sites. We will brief everyone beforehand.
No. International flights to and from Turkey are booked separately.
We get in touch, walk you through the trip and answer any questions. Applying does not require payment or commit you to the trip.
