Pace
Full, with room to wander
Hanoi begins noisily. Scooters everywhere, tiny stools on pavements, bowls arriving faster than you can identify what’s inside them and coffee strong enough to rearrange the afternoon.
Then the city gives way to limestone and water around Ninh Binh before we fly south.
Hoi An slows everything down. Old streets, tailors, lantern light, cafés and evenings when walking is really all the plan you need.
Nha Trang puts us beside the sea for boats, food, beach time and a little necessary irresponsibility. And finally Saigon: taller, faster, louder again.
Ten days from north to south without pretending Vietnam can be understood in one.
Trip highlights
Day by day
Ten days from Hanoi’s Old Quarter through Hoi An’s lanterns to the coast at Nha Trang and Saigon’s energy, laid out day by day.
Days 1–10
Hanoi
Arrive, drop the bags and meet Hanoi on foot.
Walk towards Hoan Kiem Lake, eat something from the street before you’ve fully worked out what it is, have dinner nearby and let the Old Quarter take care of the rest of the evening.
Core Experiences
Optional
Hanoi
Go deeper into the city. Start with a guided look at Hanoi, then deliberately slow down.
This is a city worth understanding through cafés as much as landmarks, so the afternoon belongs partly to egg coffee, people-watching and whatever places we wander into.
The evening can include one of Hanoi’s traditional water-puppet performances before heading back into the Old Quarter.
Core Experiences
Optional
Ninh Binh
Leave Hanoi for a completely different landscape. Limestone cliffs rise out of green fields and waterways around Ninh Binh and Trang An.
Spend the day among temples, caves, boats and viewpoints before heading back into Hanoi for the evening.
Core Experiences
Hoi An
Fly south and settle into Hoi An. No need to attack the town with an attraction list.
Start with lunch, wander the old streets, find the cafés and tailor shops, then experience Teh Dar, a performance built around tribal rhythms and contemporary Vietnamese storytelling.
Dinner follows. The night market can handle whatever energy is left.
Core Experiences
Hoi An
There are ambitious ways to start today: cycling through the countryside or heading towards the Marble Mountains around sunrise. Or you can start slowly.
Later we explore Hoi An properly: Japanese Covered Bridge, old houses, assembly halls and the streets that make the city worth lingering in.
After dark, the river changes everything. Lanterns, boats, drinks and no reason to hurry home.
Core Experiences
Optional
Nha Trang
Keep the morning deliberately free. Breakfast, shopping, another coffee, collect anything you’ve had made or simply do nothing useful.
Then we head towards Nha Trang. Check in, get your bearings and make the evening mostly about dinner and the coast.
Core Experiences
Nha Trang
Today belongs on the water. Head out in the morning for a boat experience and floating-bar energy.
Back on land, the afternoon slows down before a cyclo ride takes us through the city with food along the way.
Core Experiences
Optional
Nha Trang
See another side of Nha Trang through the city and its local history before visiting a traditional craft village.
Then the day gets considerably simpler. Beach. Sunset. Drinks. Dinner.
Core Experiences
Ho Chi Minh City
Fly into Saigon and immediately feel the pace change. Spend the afternoon getting your bearings around Ho Chi Minh City.
When the sun drops, head upwards for drinks overlooking the city before dinner and, for anyone still going, the streets and nightlife below.
Core Experiences
Optional
Ho Chi Minh City
One final piece of Vietnam before goodbye. Head out towards the Cu Chi Tunnels for a glimpse into a very different part of the country’s history.
Return to the city, collect the bags and begin the journey home.
Core Experiences
An outline, not a schedule. Vietnam rewards flexibility; exact timings and experiences may shift with logistics, weather and the group.

Reviews
Good to know
A north-to-south journey mixing cities, food, culture, landscapes and coast rather than trying to visit every major attraction in the country.
We start in Hanoi and finish in Ho Chi Minh City.
The trip is intentionally paced around distinct regions rather than long sightseeing lists. Internal travel keeps the route moving while free periods stop every day from feeling programmed.
Depending on final availability: Hanoi’s Water Puppet Show, countryside cycling near Hoi An, a Marble Mountains experience, spa or mud bath in Nha Trang and selected nightlife.
A maximum of twelve travellers plus a Voyagio host. Most travellers are generally in their late twenties to forties.
Twin-share is the default. Private rooms can be requested for an additional cost, subject to availability.
Moderate. Expect plenty of walking, changing cities and some long days, but no technical trekking or special fitness requirement.
We’ll get in touch, answer your questions and have a short conversation before you reserve your place.
No. International flights, visas and travel insurance are your responsibility unless the final trip inclusions specifically state otherwise.
